The SECO 03273964 is a WNMG432-MF4 grade TM2501 solid carbide turning insert designed for high-performance metal cutting in demanding machining environments. This trigon-shaped insert features an 80-degree included angle, a 1/2 inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32 inch corner radius. The insert is CVD-coated with a Duratomic TiCN and Al2O3 multilayer coating that extends tool life and maintains edge integrity under thermal stress. With six available cutting edges and a negative rake geometry, it delivers consistent chip control across a range of material removal applications. Machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments are the primary users of this insert type.
This insert is optimized for machining stainless steel as its primary workpiece material, with steel as a secondary workpiece material. It is rated at material grades M25, M30, and M35 under ISO classification. The MF4 chip breaker geometry and chamfered and honed cutting edge style make it particularly effective in finishing and medium turning operations. Multi-use applications include boring, facing, and turning on CNC lathes and machining centers. It accepts clamping, pin, and lever-lock insert holding methods, offering flexibility across a variety of toolholders.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-application insert for WNMG-series toolholders accepting a 432 insert size with a 0.2028 inch hole diameter and lever-lock, pin, or clamp retention. Industry standard number WNMG432-MF4 and ISO code WNMG080408-MF4 can be used to cross-reference compatible toolholder systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key for the insert clamping screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide insert. Ensure the insert seat and pocket are clean and free of chips before seating the new insert. Verify proper insert orientation and chip breaker direction relative to the intended cutting operation before resuming production.
