The SECO 03273962 is a solid carbide turning insert in the WNMG432-MF4 series, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries grade TM1501 with a CVD-applied Duratomic coating of TiCN and Al2O3 for enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability. The insert features a trigon (W) shape with an 80-degree included angle, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch (0.0315-inch) corner radius. Six cutting edges per insert reduce tooling cost per part. The MF4 chip breaker geometry and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge style make this insert well suited for finishing and medium turning operations on difficult-to-machine materials.
This insert is designed primarily for machining stainless steel (ISO material code M) and is also rated for steel (ISO material code P), covering material grades M15, M20, and M25. Typical applications include turning, facing, and boring operations. The neutral hand orientation and negative rake geometry make it compatible with standard WNMG-style toolholders used in production and job-shop turning environments. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 10 units. Torque the clamping screw per the toolholder manufacturer's specification, not the insert manufacturer's. Verify insert orientation and edge selection before resuming cutting operations.
