The SECO 03273908 is a CNMG-style indexable turning insert designed for precision metal removal on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the TM1501 grade designation and features a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr for extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The insert has an 80-degree diamond shape, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, and a 3/64-inch corner radius. With four cutting edges, a negative rake geometry, and a chamfered-and-honed cutting edge style, it delivers consistent chip control across a range of feed rates and depths of cut up to 0.4594 inches. The MF4 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium finishing operations.
This insert is suited for boring, facing, and turning operations in production and job-shop environments. Its primary target workpiece material is stainless steel (ISO material group M), with secondary applicability to steel (ISO group P). It fits material grades M15, M20, and M25, making it a practical choice for medium finishing passes on austenitic and ferritic stainless alloys.
