The SECO 03273907 is a CNMG433-M5 indexable turning insert made from solid carbide with a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr under the Duratomic coating classification. It features a 1/2 inch inscribed circle, a 3/64 inch corner radius, and an 80-degree diamond insert shape. The TM2501 manufacturer grade targets stainless steel and steel machining applications where wear resistance and edge stability are critical. With four cutting edges and an M5 chip breaker geometry, this insert handles interrupted and continuous cuts in medium to heavy stock removal. Licensed machinists and CNC operators use it for boring, facing, and turning operations.
This insert is designed primarily for stainless steel (ISO material code M) with steel as a secondary workpiece material (ISO material code P). It fits turning centers and CNC lathes where CNMG-style toolholders are used. Applicable material grades are M25, M30, and M35, covering a range of austenitic and ferritic stainless alloys as well as carbon and alloy steels. The neutral hand orientation makes it compatible with both right-hand and left-hand tooling setups. Typical applications include general-purpose turning, facing passes, and internal boring operations on production and job-shop equipment.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing inserts. Seat the insert firmly against the toolholder pocket using the appropriate clamping method (clamp, pin, or lever lock) and verify there is no rocking before resuming cuts. Inspect the cutting edge and chip breaker for damage each time the insert is indexed to a new edge.
