The SECO 03273544 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation LPHW060310TR-MD07 in manufacturer grade MP2501. This right-hand, single-sided rectangular insert is designed for indexable milling operations and seats in compatible LP-series cutter bodies. It features a CVD-applied Duratomic coating stack of TiCN and Al2O3 for thermal resistance and edge stability during aggressive cuts. The neutral rake geometry, T-Land cutting edge style, and MD07 chip breaker work together to control chip flow and reduce built-up edge. With 2 cutting edges and a maximum depth of cut of 0.3343 inches, it is suited to production and job-shop milling environments where consistent tool life across multiple materials is required.
This insert is intended for milling steel as its primary workpiece material, with rated secondary applications in stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The fine-grain carbide substrate and Duratomic CVD coating make it appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing passes on these material families. Typical installations are in horizontal and vertical machining centers running LP-series face and shoulder mill bodies. It is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in metalworking, aerospace, energy, and general manufacturing operations. The screw-holding method requires a standard torx or hex key driver compatible with the cutter body design.
Designed for use with SECO cutter series R217.21-LP06 and R220.21-LP06. Insert style is LPHW, series LPHW-06, with ANSI and ISO code LPHW060310TR-MD07.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the cutter body manufacturer's specified torx or hex key driver to secure the clamping screw; do not overtighten by feel alone. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw threads for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper seating and runout control.
