The SECO 03273259 is a solid carbide milling insert identified by ANSI and ISO code SCET120612T-M14, grade MP2501, designed for use in indexable milling cutters on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The insert features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive 15-degree rake angle, and a T-Land cutting edge style that improves edge stability during interrupted cuts. A TiCN and Al2O3 CVD Duratomic coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection. With four cutting edges per insert and a neutral hand orientation, it delivers consistent performance across tool changes. Primary workpiece material is steel, with secondary capability in stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium.
This insert is suited for face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose metal removal in production environments where steel and stainless steel are the dominant workpiece materials. The M14 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium cutting conditions. Compatible cutter series include R217.59-12 and R220.59-12, making it a direct replacement or replenishment insert for shops already running those tool bodies. It is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces, consistent with standard indexable insert purchasing practices in production machining operations.

Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using the appropriate Torx or hex key for the screw-clamp holding method. Power down and lock out the spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket seating surface and clamp screw condition before installing a new insert, as debris or a damaged pocket will affect runout and edge life. Follow the cutter body manufacturer torque guidelines for the clamping screw — do not overtighten.
