The SECO 03273011 is a solid carbide octagonal milling insert with the ANSI and ISO designation ONMU090520ANTN-M14, carrying the MP1501 manufacturer grade. It features a CVD-applied Duratomic coating of TiCN and Al2O3, engineered for cutting performance in steel, cast iron, and hard materials. The insert measures 0.8661 inches inscribed circle diameter and 0.2189 inches thick, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.2874 inches. Sixteen cutting edges and a double-sided, negative-rake geometry with a T-Land cutting edge style deliver extended tool life per insert. This is a screw-held insert installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in indexable milling cutter bodies.
This insert is suited for face milling, shoulder milling, and general indexable milling operations on steel (material grade code P), cast iron (K), and hard materials (H). Its M14 chip breaker geometry is designed for medium-cut applications. The insert fits the SECO R220.48-09 and L220.48-09 cutter series. It is a neutral-hand insert, making it compatible with both right-hand and left-hand cutter bodies within those series. Typical applications include production machining on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers in job-shop and high-volume manufacturing environments.
Designed for use with the SECO R220.48-09 and L220.48-09 cutter series. The ANSI and ISO code ONMU090520ANTN-M14 can be used to verify fitment with other cutter bodies that accept inserts of the ONMU-09 series designation.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Shut down the machine spindle and lock it out before handling inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer to seat the clamping screw to the cutter body torque specification. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before seating a new insert.
