The SECO 03273009 is a solid carbide octagon milling insert carrying ANSI/ISO designation ONMU090520ANTN-M13 in manufacturer grade MP2501. It features a CVD-applied Duratomic TiCN and Al2O3 dual-layer coating engineered for extended tool life in demanding metal-cutting applications. The insert measures 0.8661 inches inscribed circle diameter and 0.2677 inches thick, with a 0.0787-inch corner radius and a maximum depth of cut of 0.3031 inches. Sixteen usable cutting edges per insert and a double-sided, negative rake geometry deliver a low cost-per-edge value for high-volume milling operations. The neutral hand orientation suits a wide range of milling cutter bodies.
This insert is designed for face milling and shoulder milling operations on steel as its primary workpiece material, with rated capability across stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It fits cutter series R220.48-09 and L220.48-09. Typical users include CNC machinists and tooling specialists in production shops, job shops, and aerospace or energy-sector manufacturing environments where consistent chip control across varied materials is required. The M13 chip breaker geometry promotes reliable chip evacuation across these material families.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R220.48-09 and L220.48-09. Insert is secured by screw holding method. ANSI and ISO code: ONMU090520ANTN-M13.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw; do not over-tighten or substitute fasteners. Inspect the cutter pocket seating surface for chips or debris before inserting to ensure proper seating and runout.
