The SECO 03273002 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation ONMU050410ANTN-M11 in manufacturer grade MP2501. It features an octagon shape with 16 cutting edges and a double-sided design, maximizing tool life and reducing per-edge cost. The insert is CVD-coated with a Duratomic TiCN and Al2O3 multilayer coating for thermal resistance and wear performance. At 4.00 mm thick with a 12.00 mm inscribed circle and a negative rake geometry with 20-degree rake angle, it is engineered for productive milling in steel and other demanding workpiece materials. A T-Land cutting edge style and M11 chip breaker geometry support stable chip formation at a range of feed rates.
This insert is suited for milling operations on steel as its primary workpiece material, with rated secondary applications in stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It carries ISO material codes P, M, K, and S, covering a broad spectrum of metalcutting scenarios. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and high-feed milling on machining centers where consistent chip control and edge durability are priorities. The neutral hand orientation allows flexible mounting in compatible tooling systems. It is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in production, job shop, and maintenance machining environments.
Designed for use with SECO cutter series R217.48-05 and R220.48-05. Insert series is ONMU-05. Verify toolholder pocket specifications against the ONMU050410ANTN-M11 insert dimensions before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key torque driver per the toolholder manufacturer specifications when seating the clamping screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before installing a new insert edge.
