The SECO 03272964 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation SEEX1204AFTN-M14 in manufacturer grade MP2501. This square-shaped, single-sided insert features a 90-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry with a 5-degree rake angle, and a T-Land cutting edge style. The 20-degree relief angle and fine-grain carbide substrate support stable cutting performance across a range of workpiece materials. A CVD-applied Duratomic coating combining TiCN and Al2O3 layers provides wear resistance and thermal stability. The insert measures 0.5 inches in length and width, with a thickness of 0.1874 inches and a 0.5-inch inscribed circle. Four cutting edges are available per insert, and the screw-hold mounting method is standard for this style.
This insert is designed for milling applications on steel as the primary workpiece material, with secondary suitability for stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The M14 chip breaker geometry supports a maximum depth of cut of 0.3425 inches (6.00 mm), making it appropriate for moderate to aggressive face and shoulder milling in production environments.
