The SECO 03272959 is a solid carbide coated milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation SEEX09T3AFTN-ME07 in manufacturer grade MP2501. It is a square-shaped, single-sided insert in the SEEX-09 series, designed for indexable milling operations on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The insert measures 3/8 inch in length and width, with a thickness of 5/32 inch (0.1563 inches) and a corner radius of 0.0118 inches. A TiCN plus Al2O3 Duratomic CVD coating delivers thermal resistance and wear protection for sustained cutting performance. Four cutting edges are available per insert. It is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method and features a positive rake angle of 22 degrees with a T-Land cutting edge style.
This insert is suited for face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose milling operations on steel as its primary workpiece material. Secondary material applications include stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, making it a versatile option across a range of machining environments. Compatible cutter series include the R217.53 and R220.53-09. The ME07 chip breaker geometry is optimized for light-to-medium depth milling cuts, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.2795 inches (4.50 mm). Typical users are CNC machinists, toolroom operators, and production machining professionals working in manufacturing environments.
Designed for use in SECO cutter series R217.53 and R220.53-09. Insert conforms to ANSI and ISO designation SEEX09T3AFTN-ME07 and is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer to secure the insert screw to the recommended seating torque per the cutter body documentation. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
