Product Description

The SECO 03272926 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation SNMX1407ANTR-M10 in manufacturer grade MP2501. This double-sided, square-shaped insert features a negative rake geometry with a 17-degree rake angle and a T-Land cutting edge style, delivering 8 usable cutting edges per insert. A CVD-applied Duratomic coating combining TiCN and Al2O3 provides wear resistance for demanding milling operations. The insert measures 14 millimeters in inscribed circle diameter and 6.59 millimeters thick, with a corner radius of 0.0394 inches. It is designed for use by machinists and tooling technicians running square-shoulder and face-milling operations in production environments.

This insert is suited for milling steel as its primary workpiece material, with secondary capability in stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It is appropriate for both light and medium-duty milling passes with a maximum depth of cut of 6.00 millimeters. The right-hand, negative-rake configuration makes it a practical choice for high-volume operations on CNC machining centers where consistent tool life and edge performance are required. The M10 chip breaker geometry supports chip control across the listed material applications.

Key Features

  • 8 cutting edges per insert from double-sided, square geometry — reduces per-edge tooling cost
  • CVD Duratomic coating (TiCN plus Al2O3) for elevated wear and heat resistance
  • Negative rake with T-Land cutting edge style for improved edge strength on hard and abrasive materials
  • M10 chip breaker supports chip control in steel, stainless, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium
  • Maximum depth of cut of 6.00 millimeters suitable for roughing and semi-finishing passes
  • Screw-held insert mounting for secure seating under high cutting forces

Compatibility

Compatible with cutter bodies in the following series: R217.54-14, R217.56-14, R220.54-14, and R220.56-14.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing inserts. Seat the insert firmly against the pocket locating surfaces and torque the clamping screw to the tool body manufacturer's specification found in the cutter body documentation. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert to prevent rocking or improper contact.
