The SECO 03272844 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation XOMX10T308TR-M09, designed for high-feed and shoulder milling operations in metal cutting applications. Manufactured in the XOMX-10 series with SECO grade MP2501, this insert features a CVD-applied Duratomic coating of TiCN and Al2O3 for thermal resistance and wear protection during prolonged cuts. The parallelogram insert shape with a positive rake angle of 10.6 degrees reduces cutting forces, while the T-Land cutting edge style provides edge stability. With a maximum depth of cut of 4.65 mm and a corner radius of 1/32 inch, it is suited for precision milling work requiring consistent chip control via the M09 chip breaker geometry. Installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians.
This insert is intended for milling steel as its primary workpiece material, and is also rated for secondary applications in stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It is a single-sided, right-hand insert held in place by screw clamping. Typical use cases include shoulder milling, slot milling, and general-purpose face milling on CNC machining centers where consistent tool life and surface finish on ferrous and difficult-to-machine alloys are required. Compatible cutter series include R217.69-10 and R220.69-10 per manufacturer data.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-10 and R220.69-10 per manufacturer specifications. Rated for primary use on steel (P-grade material code) and secondary use on stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (M, K, and S material codes).
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Before changing inserts, power down and lock out the machine spindle per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the screw-clamped insert fully and evenly in the cutter body pocket. Inspect the pocket seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper edge geometry and runout.
