The SECO 03272835 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation XOMX10T308TR-ME07 and manufactured to grade MP2501. The insert features a parallelogram shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive 20.4-degree rake angle, and a T-Land cutting edge style. The ME07 chip breaker geometry and CVD-applied Duratomic coating — TiCN over Al2O3 — are engineered for consistent chip control and heat resistance during high-feed milling operations. Two cutting edges are available per insert, and the right-hand orientation makes this a single-sided, screw-held insert suited for production milling environments.
This insert is designed for milling steel as its primary workpiece material, with rated secondary capability in stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It is held in place by a screw-clamping method and is compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-10 and R220.69-10. Typical applications include shoulder milling, face milling, and general-purpose metal removal in both job-shop and production settings where consistent edge life across multiple materials is required. The positive rake geometry reduces cutting forces, making it a practical choice for lighter-duty spindles and long-overhang setups.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-10 and R220.69-10 per manufacturer specification. Insert size code is 10T308, series XOMX-10.
Installation of milling inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per applicable machine-safety procedures. Use a calibrated torque wrench and the screw driver specified by the cutter body manufacturer when securing the insert screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the pocket seating surface and screw for wear or contamination before seating a new insert. Replace inserts at the first sign of edge chipping or surface-finish degradation to prevent cutter body damage.
