The SECO 03272832 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation XOMX120408TR-MD13 in manufacturer grade MP2501. This single-sided, parallelogram-shaped insert features a positive rake geometry with a 14.6-degree rake angle and a T-Land cutting edge style. It carries a CVD-applied Duratomic coating of TiCN and Al2O3 for wear resistance across demanding milling operations. With a maximum depth of cut of 5.80 mm, a corner radius of 1/32 inch, and two cutting edges per insert, it is engineered for productive face and shoulder milling on machining centers and milling machines.
This insert is suited for milling steel as its primary workpiece material, with secondary suitability for stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys and titanium. It is designed for right-hand cutting and is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method. Typical applications include roughing and semi-finishing passes on ferrous and difficult-to-machine alloys in industrial machining environments. Compatible cutter series include R217.69-12 and R220.69-12, as specified by SECO for the XOMX-12 series.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-12 and R220.69-12 in the XOMX-12 series, as specified in the product data. ANSI and ISO code XOMX120408TR-MD13 applies.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key for the clamping screw as specified by the cutter body manufacturer, and inspect the insert pocket and screw for debris or damage before seating the new insert. Follow the cutter body manufacturer's torque guidelines for the clamping screw.
