The SECO 03272831 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation XOMX120408TR-M12 in manufacturer grade MP1501. This single-sided, right-hand parallelogram insert features a CVD-applied Duratomic TiCN and Al2O3 coating designed to extend tool life in demanding cutting applications. It runs a positive rake angle of 10.4 degrees with a T-Land cutting edge style, delivering a maximum depth of cut of 5.80 mm (0.2285 inches). With 2 cutting edges and a 1/32-inch corner radius, the insert is held in place by a screw-type clamping method. It is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians on compatible milling cutter bodies.
This insert is intended for milling operations on steel as the primary workpiece material, with secondary suitability for cast iron and hard materials. The M12 chip breaker geometry supports general-purpose and finishing passes where controlled chip formation is critical. It is well-suited for both horizontal and vertical milling setups in production machining environments, including job shops and manufacturing facilities running high-volume steel and cast iron components.
