The SECO 03272826 is a solid carbide indexable milling insert carrying ANSI/ISO designation XOMX120408TR-M12 in manufacturer grade MP2501. It is a parallelogram-shaped, single-sided insert with a positive rake geometry and a T-Land cutting edge style designed for face and shoulder milling operations. The insert features a CVD-applied Duratomic coating — TiCN over Al2O3 — which provides thermal resistance and wear protection in interrupted and continuous cut conditions. With two cutting edges, a 15-degree relief angle, and a 10.4-degree rake angle, it is suited for productive metal removal on steel and related workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production facilities install and index these inserts during scheduled tooling changes.
This insert is intended for milling applications where the primary workpiece material is steel, with secondary suitability for stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material codes P, M, K, and S). The M12 chip breaker geometry supports stable chip formation across a range of feed rates. It is a right-hand insert held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method. Typical use cases include face milling, shoulder milling, and pocketing operations on CNC machining centers. Compatible cutter series include R217.69-12 and R220.69-12 per supplier data.

Insert indexing and replacement is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before accessing the cutter body. Use the correct Torx or hex key for the cutter screw and ensure the insert seats fully and squarely in the pocket before tightening. Inspect the cutter pocket and seating surfaces for debris or damage each time an insert is indexed.
