The SECO 03213545 is a solid carbide square milling insert in the SNHX-14 series, designated by the ANSI and ISO code SNHX1407ANR-ME10 in manufacturer grade H25. This double-sided, negative-rake insert delivers 8 usable cutting edges and is designed for high-productivity face and shoulder milling applications. It features a honed cutting edge style, ME10 chip breaker geometry, and an inscribed circle of 0.5512 inches (14.00 mm) with a thickness of 0.2594 inches (6.59 mm). The uncoated micrograin carbide substrate is optimized for thermal stability and edge retention when cutting non-ferrous metals and superalloys. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary installers of this insert type.
This insert is intended for use in milling operations on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper alloys, as well as superalloys and titanium. Its negative rake angle of 20 degrees and right-hand orientation suit it for climb and conventional milling passes where edge security and chip control are critical. The ME10 chip breaker geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation in these demanding materials. The insert is compatible with the R220.56-14 cutter series and is held in place by a screw-clamping method, making it straightforward to index or replace at the spindle without disturbing the toolholder body.
Designed for use with the R220.56-14 cutter series. Insert style SNHX, size code 1407, fits toolholders accepting inserts with an inscribed circle in the range of 0.5100 to 0.6000 inches and a thickness in the range of 0.2500 to 0.3500 inches.
This insert is installed and indexed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always de-energize and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct Torx or hex key for the clamping screw and ensure the insert seat and pocket are clean and free of chips before seating the new insert. Do not overtighten the clamping screw, as this can crack the carbide substrate.
