The SECO 03213544 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the manufacturer designation SNHX1407ANR-ME10 in the MS2050 grade. It is a square-shaped, double-sided insert with a negative rake geometry and 8 usable cutting edges, making it a high-utilization option for face and shoulder milling operations. The insert measures 14.00 mm (0.5512 inches) in inscribed circle diameter and 6.59 mm (0.2594 inches) thick. A TiAlN and NbN PVD coating over a micrograin carbide substrate gives the cutting edges wear resistance and thermal stability at elevated cutting speeds. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible milling cutter bodies.
This insert is engineered primarily for machining superalloys and titanium (ISO material code S), with secondary suitability for steel and stainless steel (ISO material codes P and M). Typical applications include aerospace component milling, energy-sector part production, and general precision machining where difficult-to-cut alloys are involved. The ME10 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation across these material types. The right-hand cutting configuration and screw-holding method are standard for this insert style and size class. The SNHX-14 series and cutter series compatibility designation R220.56-14 govern toolholder selection.
Designed for use with SECO cutter series R220.56-14 toolholders. ANSI and ISO designation SNHX1407ANR-ME10 governs cross-reference to equivalent cutter bodies accepting the SNHX-14 insert series with screw clamping.
Installation is performed by a CNC machinist or toolroom technician following the spindle lockout and cutter disassembly procedures required by the machine tool manufacturer. Seat the insert firmly against the pocket locating surfaces before torquing the clamping screw to the cutter body manufacturer's specified value. Inspect the insert pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert, as a damaged or contaminated pocket will accelerate edge failure. Minimum order quantity for this insert is 10 pieces per order.
