The SECO 03204984 is a solid carbide ball end mill from the JMB112 series, designed for precision milling in hard and difficult-to-machine materials. With a 0.0315 inch (0.80 mm) mill diameter and a 2-flute helical geometry, this single-end tool delivers clean material removal in both roughing and finishing operations. The 28-degree medium helix angle promotes chip evacuation while maintaining edge stability at small diameters. An HXT PVD coating extends tool life by increasing surface hardness and thermal resistance. The micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances and consistent performance at depth.
This end mill is suited for high-precision machining applications where small-diameter tooling is required, including die and mold work, micro-feature machining, and detail work in hard material grades. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's runout and clamping specifications. Maximum TIR is 0.01 mm — verify runout at setup before cutting. Coolant-through is not supported; external coolant or air blast should be directed at the cutting zone. Inspect the cutting edge under magnification before each use, as small-diameter carbide tools are susceptible to chipping if mishandled or dropped.
