The SECO 03134317 is a solid carbide indexable drill insert in the SCGX style, designed for use with Perfomax series indexable drills. It carries the DS2050 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied coating for extended tool life in demanding drilling applications. The insert features a 0.5-inch (12.70 mm) inscribed circle, a 90-degree square shape, an 0.80 mm corner radius, and a 7-degree relief angle. The MP chipbreaker geometry supports universal workpiece materials across multiple material groups. Licensed HVAC and metalworking trade professionals specify this insert for high-productivity drilling where consistent chip control and edge durability are required.
This insert is suited for use in ferrous and non-ferrous drilling operations in both production and job-shop environments. It is compatible with Perfomax series indexable drill bodies that accept the SCGX insert style at the 12-04-08 insert size. The dual-hand cutting direction designation means the insert supports both left-hand and right-hand drill body configurations. Primary workpiece material codes M, N, P, and S indicate suitability for stainless steel, non-ferrous materials, steel, and heat-resistant superalloys respectively.
Designed for use with SECO Perfomax series indexable drill bodies that accept the SCGX insert style at insert size 120408 (0.5-inch inscribed circle). Specific drill body compatibility should be confirmed against the SECO Perfomax tooling selector for the target bore diameter and drill body configuration.
Insert seating and torque should follow the tool body manufacturer specifications provided with the Perfomax drill body. Ensure the drill body pocket is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert. Power down and de-energize any CNC or machine tool before performing insert changes. Inspect the insert pocket for wear or damage each time inserts are rotated or replaced.
