The SECO 03116006 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-demand material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys including titanium. It carries a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius ground to a tolerance of plus or minus 0.00100 inch. The 7-flute, close-pitch geometry is optimized for roughing operations where chip load and tool life are the primary concerns. An AlTiN PVD coating adds heat and wear resistance suited to dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. The tool weighs 0.35 pounds and is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in production or job-shop environments.
This end mill is used in milling operations on ferrous and exotic materials where a corner radius profile is required to reduce stress concentration at the base of a cut. Its long-length configuration — 4 inch overall length with a 2 inch length of cut — supports deeper pocket and slot work where standard-reach tools cannot reach. The straight cylindrical 1/2 inch shank is compatible with standard ER collet chucks and hydraulic or shrink-fit toolholders. Right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral are standard orientation for conventional CNC milling centers.

Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the toolholder bore is clean and free of chips or burrs before seating the shank. Confirm runout against the TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch after clamping to protect edge integrity. This tool is not center-cutting and should not be plunged axially; use ramping or helical entry for pocket work.
