The SECO 03115983 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The cutter measures 0.75 inches in diameter with a 1.75-inch length of cut, a 0.0300-inch corner radius, and a 6-inch overall length. Six flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration with a 38-degree medium helix provide efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating delivers heat resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. This end mill is centercutting and rated for both roughing and finishing operations, making it a versatile choice for machinists working in tool-and-die, aerospace, and general machining environments.
The 03115983 is suited for CNC vertical machining centers, horizontal mills, and multi-axis platforms using standard toolholders with a 0.75-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Its close pitch geometry and micrograin carbide substrate make it effective in short-overhang setups where rigidity and dimensional accuracy are required. The extended reach of 3.0 inches and a neck diameter of 0.72 inches allow access to deeper features while maintaining clearance. Series SN638R targets applications in steel and high-temperature alloys where tool wear resistance is a priority.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 0.75-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with CNC machining centers set up for right-hand cutting. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium per SECO Series SN638R specifications.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine placed in an e-stop or locked-out state per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005-inch TIR maximum before beginning a cut. Do not use this end mill in left-hand spindle rotation or with coolant-through toolholders that generate pressure beyond the tool's designed operating range, as coolant-through is not supported on this tool.
