The SECO 03115965 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining environments. It features a 0.500 inch diameter, six flutes, and a 0.0600 inch corner radius that reduces edge chipping and extends tool life on hard or abrasive workpiece materials. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures. With a 1.625 inch length of cut and 4.000 inch overall length, this single-end, center-cutting tool is well suited for milling operations requiring both depth and precision. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is designed for roughing applications on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The close-pitch, six-flute configuration and chipbreaker geometry support aggressive material removal rates while managing chip load. The 38-degree helix angle and right-hand flute direction promote smooth cutting action in these material groups. It is part of the SECO SCS638R series and fits straight-cylindrical toolholders with a 0.500 inch shank.
Compatible with straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 0.500 inch shank. Intended for use on CNC machining centers processing steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. Part of the SECO SCS638R series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Ensure the toolholder bore and shank are clean and free of chips before seating. Verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR specification before beginning a cut; excessive runout accelerates flute wear and can cause premature tool failure.
