The SECO 03115964 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for aggressive material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. With a 0.5 inch diameter, 6 flutes, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius, it delivers a blend of edge strength and surface finish control that single-end roughing applications demand. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and oxidation protection at elevated cutting speeds. A 38-degree medium helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining stability in deep-pocket and profiling passes. Micrograin carbide substrate adds wear resistance and edge integrity. This tool is used by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms.
The 03115964 is suited for roughing operations on steel and high-temp alloy components in CNC machining centers. Its 1.625 inch length of cut and 4 inch overall length make it well-matched for moderate-depth pocketing, slotting, and peripheral milling. The close pitch flute geometry and chipbreaker configuration help manage chip loads in gummy or work-hardening materials such as stainless steel and titanium alloys. The straight cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard toolholders. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are consistent with conventional CNC spindle configurations.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before tool changes. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder and verify runout does not exceed the specified TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before initiating a cut. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's torque guidelines for retention knobs and collet nuts.
