The SECO 03115959 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 1-1/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The 6-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 38-degree helix angle supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. An AlTiN (PVD) coating provides thermal resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures. The shank diameter is 1/2 inch with a straight-cylindrical profile, and overall length is 4 inches. This tool is intended for use in CNC machining centers with compatible toolholders.
The 03115959 is suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium — workpiece material codes P, M, K, and S. The short length type and 2 inch reach length make it appropriate for moderate-depth pocketing, profiling, and contouring operations where rigidity and surface finish are both priorities. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry. This tool is used by machinists and toolroom professionals in job shop, aerospace, medical, and general manufacturing environments.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch cylindrical shank. Part of the SECO SN638R series. For use in CNC machining centers and toolholders as specified by SECO tooling guidelines.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and all energy sources isolated per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the shank in a clean, properly sized toolholder bore and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or damage before each use. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum before beginning a cut.
