The SECO 03115931 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision material removal in ferrous and high-strength alloy machining applications. Built to Series S638R specifications, this single-end, centercutting tool features a 1/8 inch mill diameter, a 0.0100 inch corner radius, and six flutes with a 38-degree medium helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The micrograin carbide substrate supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. It is used by machinists and CNC operators working in precision part production and toolroom environments.
This end mill fits applications requiring tight-tolerance corner profiling and peripheral milling in demanding workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys. The short length-of-cut geometry and straight cylindrical shank are suited to high-rigidity setups in standard toolholders. The close pitch flute configuration promotes chip evacuation in these materials while maintaining surface finish. The centercutting design allows for plunge entry where needed, adding flexibility in multi-axis and contour milling operations.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch shank diameter. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight-tolerance corner radius profiling is required in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Confirm toolholder bore and collet dimensions match the 1/4 inch shank before tightening. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum specification after seating to maintain edge integrity and dimensional tolerance.
