The SECO 03106582 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation XOMX120408TR-ME08 and manufactured to the MP2050 grade. It features a parallelogram shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry of 20.1 degrees, and a T-Land cutting edge style. The insert is PVD-coated with a TiSiN and TiAlN dual-layer finish for wear resistance in demanding milling operations. With two cutting edges and a right-hand orientation, this single-sided insert is designed for screw-held toolholders used in face and shoulder milling applications. Typical installers are CNC machinists and toolroom technicians working with ferrous and difficult-to-machine alloys.
This insert is suited for milling stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, and superalloys including titanium-based materials. It carries primary workpiece material code P and secondary codes P, M, and S, covering a broad range of ferrous and exotic alloy applications. The ME08 chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip evacuation in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. It is compatible with the XOMX-12 series cutter bodies and is intended for use in production milling environments where consistent tool life and surface finish are required on hard-to-machine materials.
Compatible with XOMX-12 series cutter bodies, specifically R217.69-12 and R220.69-12 cutter series. Insert uses screw holding method and is a right-hand orientation insert.
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or toolroom technicians during insert indexing or replacement cycles. Power down and lock out the spindle drive before handling inserts or toolholders. Use the correct torx or hex key specified for the cutter body to seat the screw to the toolholder manufacturer recommendation — do not overtighten by feel alone. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamping screw threads for chips or debris before seating a new insert.
