The SECO 03097762 is a solid carbide indexable drill insert designed for use with Perfomax series indexable drills. Manufactured to the SCGX11P2 geometry, it features a 90-degree square shape with a 7-degree relief angle and a 0.80 mm corner radius. The insert carries the DP3000 manufacturer grade with a Duratomic coating process applied to the carbide substrate, improving wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted and continuous drilling operations. It supports both left-hand and right-hand cutting directions, making it adaptable across a range of drilling configurations. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers of this insert.
The 03097762 insert is rated for universal primary workpiece material compatibility, covering material grade codes H, K, M, P, and S. This includes carbon and alloy steels, stainless steels, cast irons, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. It is suited to production drilling applications in both job shop and high-volume manufacturing environments where consistent hole quality and tool life are required. The P2 chipbreaker geometry is optimized for chip control across this broad material range.

Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per facility safety procedures. Use the appropriate torx or hex key specified by the drill body manufacturer when seating the insert to ensure proper clamping force without overtightening. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination can affect seating accuracy and hole quality. Do not use inserts that show chipping, cratering, or delamination of the coating.
