It carries the ISO designation TCMT16T304-F1 with manufacturer grade TP3501 and a Duratomic CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr layers. The triangular insert shape provides three cutting edges, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/64-inch corner radius, and a 60-degree included angle. The F1 chip breaker geometry produces a sharp cutting edge with a positive rake, making it well suited for finishing and light-to-medium material removal on steel and stainless steel workpieces.
This insert is rated for turning, facing, boring, and back turning operations. Its primary workpiece material is steel (ISO code P), with stainless steel as the secondary material (ISO code M), and material grades P20, P30, and P40 apply.
