The SECO 03096634 is a TCMT-style solid carbide turning insert carrying ISO designation TCMT110202-F1 and manufacturer grade TP3501. It features a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, which provides wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted and continuous cuts. The insert has a triangular shape with a 60-degree included angle, a 1/4-inch inscribed circle, a 0.0079-inch corner radius, and three usable cutting edges per insert. The F1 chip breaker geometry produces a sharp cutting edge with positive rake, making it well-suited for light to medium stock removal on steel and stainless steel workpieces. CNC machinists and toolroom operators are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is rated primarily for steel (ISO material code P, grades P20, P30, P40) and secondarily for stainless steel (ISO material code M). It supports back turning, boring, facing, and turning operations, making it a versatile single-insert solution for multi-operation setups. The screw-holding method and TCMT seat geometry fit standard TCMT insert pockets. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.4134 inches and an insert length of 0.4331 inches, it is appropriate for moderate material removal rates in both production turning and job-shop environments on CNC lathes and turning centers.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret or tool post is locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to the tool-holder manufacturer's specified seating procedure when tightening the clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket seat for chips or debris before seating a new edge, as contamination can cause insert rocking and premature edge failure.
