The SECO 03096369 is a DNMG431-MF3 series indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide and coated with a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating consisting of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr. It carries grade designation TP3501 and is designed for general turning operations in steel and stainless steel applications. The insert features a 55-degree diamond shape, a neutral hand orientation, a 1/2 inch inscribed circle, and a corner radius of 1/64 inch (0.0157 inches). Four cutting edges are available per insert. The MF3 chip breaker geometry and chamfered and honed cutting edge style are suited for medium to finishing cuts in production turning environments. Licensed machinists and CNC lathe operators are the primary installers.
This insert is used in external and internal turning applications including back turning, boring, facing, and general turning. It is rated primarily for steel workpieces (ISO material code P, grades P20, P30, P40) and secondarily for stainless steel (ISO material code M). The DNMG insert style is compatible with standard DNMG-style toolholders that accept clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods. The insert conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards and carries the ISO industry code DNMG150404-MF3, making it a direct fit in tooling systems that reference that designation.

Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and de-energize the machine tool before indexing or replacing inserts. Use appropriate insert seating tools and torque the clamp or lever lock mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surface for chips or damage before seating a new insert to ensure proper clamping and prevent premature edge failure.
