The SECO 03096303 is a CNMG431-MF3 series indexable turning insert engineered for general-purpose metal cutting in CNC and manual lathe applications. Manufactured from solid carbide with a CVD-applied Duratomic coating system of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr layers, this insert delivers thermal resistance and edge stability across a range of steel and stainless steel workpiece materials. The insert features a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, a 1/64 inch (0.0157 inch) corner radius, and an 80-degree diamond shape with a negative rake geometry. Four usable cutting edges and the MF3 chip breaker profile make this a cost-efficient choice for medium-duty turning, facing, and boring operations.
This insert is rated for primary use on steel (ISO material code P, grades P20, P30, and P40) and secondary use on stainless steel (ISO code M). Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut of 0.4921 inch without verifying machine rigidity and workholding stability.
