The SECO 03095446 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT series, designed for precision metal-cutting operations including turning, facing, and boring. It carries the ISO designation CCMT09T308-MF2 and is manufactured to the TP3501 grade, featuring a multilayer CVD Duratomic coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr for extended tool life on steel and stainless steel. The insert has a diamond 80-degree geometry with a neutral hand orientation, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/32-inch corner radius, and a 7-degree relief angle. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop turning applications.
This insert is suited for light-to-medium turning, facing, and boring operations on steel (material grade P20, P30, P40) and stainless steel workpieces. The MF2 chip breaker geometry and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge style make it well matched to finishing and semi-finishing passes at moderate feed rates. It fits screw-clamping toolholders designed for CCMT-style inserts and is appropriate for both manual and CNC lathes in industrial production environments.
Designed for screw-clamping toolholders that accept CCMT-style inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO material code P); secondary workpiece material is stainless steel (ISO material code M). Suitable for boring, facing, and turning applications.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to tighten the clamping screw — do not overtighten, as this can chip the carbide. Verify correct seat contact and edge orientation before resuming cuts.
