The SECO 03095443 is a CCMT-series indexable turning insert designed for precision metal removal in CNC and manual lathe operations. It carries the ISO designation CCMT09T308-F1 and is manufactured from solid carbide with a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr. The 80-degree diamond shape and positive rake geometry promote clean chip formation, while the F1 chip breaker is tuned for a sharp cutting edge suited to light-to-medium finishing passes. With a 3/8 inch inscribed circle and a 1/32 inch corner radius, this insert fits standard CCMT toolholders and delivers consistent performance across steel and stainless steel workpieces. The TP3501 grade targets material grades P20, P30, and P40.
This insert is rated for boring, facing, and turning applications. Its primary workpiece material is steel, with secondary suitability for stainless steel. The neutral hand orientation makes it compatible with standard right-hand CCMT toolholders used in general turning centers and engine lathes across job shop and production environments. The F1 chip breaker geometry is particularly well suited to finishing and semi-finishing cuts where surface finish and dimensional control are priorities. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is secured in the turret before seating or indexing the insert. Use the appropriate Torx or hex driver to tighten the clamp screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque; do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can fracture under uneven clamping stress. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installation to ensure proper seating and repeatable tool offset.
