The SECO 03095441 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT series, designed for precision metal cutting operations including boring, facing, and turning. It carries the TP3501 manufacturer grade and features a CVD-applied Duratomic coating combining TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr layers for extended tool life and thermal resistance. The insert has an 80-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch corner radius. With two cutting edges and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style, this insert is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes on steel and stainless steel workpieces. It is held in place via screw clamping and follows the MF2 chip breaker geometry for positive-rake cutting action.
This insert is intended for use in CNC lathes and turning centers across light to medium-duty applications. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO material code P, grades P20, P30, and P40), with secondary suitability for stainless steel (ISO code M). The MF2 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation at moderate feed rates, making it appropriate for general turning, internal boring, and facing cycles. It complies with both ANSI and ISO standards and carries the ISO designation CCMT09T304-MF2 for cross-reference purposes.
Compatible with CCMT-style screw-on turning toolholders accepting an 80-degree diamond insert with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. Designed for use with ANSI- and ISO-standard CCMT toolholder pockets. Refer to ISO code CCMT09T304-MF2 and industry standard number CCMT32.51-MF2 when cross-referencing toolholder specifications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all motion is locked out before seating or replacing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torque driver for the clamping screw to avoid over-tightening, which can crack the carbide. Inspect the toolholder pocket for chips or debris before seating the insert to ensure proper contact and repeatability.
