The SECO 03094173 is a WNMG432-MR7 trigon turning insert manufactured from solid carbide and coated via CVD with a Duratomic TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr multilayer coating. Carrying the TP3501 grade designation, this insert features an 80-degree included angle, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch (0.0315-inch) corner radius. The MR7 chip breaker geometry and T-Land cutting edge style are engineered for controlled chip evacuation during continuous and interrupted cuts. With 6 available cutting edges and a negative rake, neutral hand design, the insert delivers consistent performance on steel and stainless steel applications. It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with the ISO code WNMG080408-MR7.
This insert is suited for general-purpose metal cutting operations including boring, facing, and turning on CNC lathes and turning centers. It targets primary workpiece material P-class steels (material grades P20, P30, P40) and secondary M-class stainless steels. Sold individually; minimum order quantity is 10 pieces.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and clamping procedures for the selected holding method (clamp, pin, or lever lock). Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces for chips or wear before seating the new insert. Do not exceed the maximum recommended depth of cut of 0.3307 inches for the insert geometry.
