The SECO 03094140 is a CNMG432-MR7 indexable turning insert in grade TP3501, designed for general-purpose metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, which provides thermal resistance and extended tool life under continuous and interrupted cuts. The 80-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand and negative rake geometry delivers stable, predictable cutting action. With a 1/2-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius, this insert is suited for medium to heavy stock removal operations in steel and stainless steel. It is installed by licensed machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is rated for boring, facing, and turning operations with a maximum depth of cut of 0.4764 inches. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO P-grade), with secondary suitability for stainless steel (ISO M-grade). Material grades P20, P30, and P40 are supported. The MR7 chip breaker geometry is optimized for controlled chip formation across a range of feed rates and depths. The T-Land cutting edge style provides edge reinforcement for interrupted cuts and scale-bearing surfaces. This insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standards and carries ISO code CNMG120408-MR7.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for toolholders accepting CNMG432 (ISO CNMG120408) indexable inserts with clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding. Conforms to ANSI and ISO CNMG series standards.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use appropriate insert seating tools and verify the insert is fully seated and clamped to the toolholder manufacturer's specification before resuming cuts. Inspect the insert pocket and shim seat for debris or damage each time the insert is indexed.
