The SECO 03094137 is a CNMG432-MF2 indexable turning insert in grade TP3501, designed for general turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and stainless steel workpieces. The insert features a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr for wear resistance and thermal stability. The 80-degree diamond shape provides a strong cutting edge, and the MF2 chip breaker geometry is tuned for medium finishing cuts. With four usable cutting edges per insert, this is a cost-effective choice for production turning applications. Licensed machinists and CNC operators running steel or stainless steel components will find this insert a direct fit in standard CNMG-style toolholders.
This insert is suited for medium to semi-finish turning, facing, and boring of steel (ISO material code P) and stainless steel (ISO material code M). Material grades P20, P30, and P40 fall within the rated application range. The neutral hand orientation makes it compatible with both left- and right-hand toolholder configurations. The MF2 chip breaker geometry performs well at moderate depths of cut and feed rates typical of production or job-shop CNC turning centers.
Designed for use in CNMG-style indexable toolholders accepting a 1/2-inch inscribed circle insert. Industry standard number CNMG432-MF2; ISO equivalent CNMG120408-MF2. Conforms to ANSI and ISO insert standards. Suitable for steel workpieces in material grades P20, P30, and P40, and stainless steel applications.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully in the pocket and tighten the clamp, pin, or lever lock mechanism to the toolholder specification before resuming cuts. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before each insert change to prevent premature edge failure.
