The SECO 03093934 is a TNMG322-M5 triangular carbide turning insert in manufacturer grade TP3501, designed for general-purpose metal cutting on CNC and manual lathes. The insert carries a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, which delivers thermal resistance and wear protection during interrupted and continuous cuts. It features a neutral hand orientation, a 3/8 inch inscribed circle (0.3750 inches), a 1/32 inch corner radius (0.0315 inches), and an M5 chip breaker geometry suited for medium-to-rough stock removal. With 6 usable cutting edges per insert, it offers a low cost-per-edge profile for high-volume turning operations. Machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers and users.
This insert is intended for turning operations on steel and stainless steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes P and M. Material grades P20, P30, and P40 are supported, making it appropriate for medium and roughing cuts on carbon steels, alloy steels, and austenitic stainless steels. Applicable operations include turning, facing, boring, and back turning. The insert is held in place by clamp, pin, or lever lock toolholders accepting TNMG-style seats. It conforms to ANSI and ISO standards, with an ISO designation of TNMG160308-M5 and an industry standard number of TNMG322-M5. This insert is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
Designed for use in TNMG-style turning toolholders that accept clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO code P, grades P20, P30, P40); secondary workpiece material is stainless steel (ISO code M). Suitable for turning, facing, boring, and back turning operations.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or indexing any insert. Ensure the toolholder pocket and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Index or replace the insert at the first sign of chipping, built-up edge, or surface finish degradation to avoid workpiece damage or toolholder wear.
