The SECO 03093924 is a DNMG432-M5 indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide with a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr. Designed for general-purpose metal cutting, this insert features a 55-degree diamond shape, a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, and a 0.0315 inch corner radius. With 4 cutting edges and a neutral hand orientation, it suits a range of lathe and machining center applications. The M5 chip breaker geometry and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge style make it a reliable choice for steel and stainless steel machining at moderate to heavy stock removal depths.
This insert is intended for use in turning, facing, boring, and back turning operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. The TP3501 grade targets steel workpieces in material grades P20, P30, and P40, with secondary suitability for stainless steel (ISO material code M). It is installed by licensed machinists and CNC operators in production shops, job shops, and maintenance machining environments where repeatable, consistent surface finish and tool life are required.
Designed for use in standard DNMG-style toolholders that accept clamp, pin, or lever lock insert holding methods. Compatible with toolholders rated for a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, DNMG series inserts with a 0.2028 inch hole diameter and 0.1874 inch insert thickness. Suitable for primary use on steel (ISO P) and secondary use on stainless steel (ISO M) workpieces.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and all axes at a safe position before handling inserts. Seat the insert fully in the toolholder pocket and verify the clamping mechanism is secure before spindle engagement. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping hardware for wear or debris prior to installation. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping specifications for the specific holding method used.
