The SECO 03093889 is a VNMG331-M3 style indexable carbide turning insert finished with a CVD-applied Duratomic coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr layers for wear resistance and thermal stability. The insert measures 1.3070 inches in length with a 0.3750-inch inscribed circle and a 0.0157-inch corner radius. It features a 35-degree diamond shape, negative rake geometry, and a chamfered and honed cutting edge. With 4 usable cutting edges and an M3 chip breaker, this insert is suited for productive turning operations at TP3501 grade cutting conditions in steel and stainless steel applications. Installation and setup are handled by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is designed for back turning, facing, profiling, and general turning operations. It is intended for use on steel workpieces graded P20, P30, and P40 as the primary material, with stainless steel as the secondary workpiece material. The M3 chip breaker geometry supports a range of depths of cut up to 0.6142 inches, making it applicable across roughing and medium-turning passes. The insert is held in place using clamp, pin, or lever lock toolholders and conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards. ISO equivalent designation is VNMG160404-M3.
Designed for use in VNMG-style toolholders that accept clamp, pin, or lever lock insert retention. Conforms to ANSI and ISO VNMG160404-M3 standards, allowing fitment in any compliant VNMG toolholder system. Minimum order quantity is 5 inserts; each package contains 1 insert.
Indexable turning inserts are installed and indexed by machinists or CNC operators following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping procedure. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping components for wear or debris before installation. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rates specified in the grade application data for TP3501.
