The SECO 03093879 is a TNMG332-M3 series triangular turning insert manufactured from solid carbide and finished with a CVD-applied Duratomic TiCN and Al2O3 multilayer coating. The insert carries a neutral hand orientation and a negative rake angle with a clearance code of N and tolerance code of M. It features a 0.375 inch inscribed circle, a 0.0315 inch corner radius, and a 60-degree included angle. The M3 chip breaker geometry with a chamfered and honed cutting edge style makes this insert well suited for medium to heavy material removal on steel and stainless steel workpieces. Licensed machinists and CNC turning center operators are the primary installers of this consumable tooling component.
This insert is designed for external and internal turning applications including back turning, boring, facing, and general turning operations. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO material code P), with secondary suitability for stainless steel (ISO material code M). Recommended material grades are P20, P30, and P40. The insert conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with the ISO designation TNMG160408-M3. It is compatible with tool holders that accept TNMG-style inserts using clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding methods.
Compatible with TNMG-style tool holders using clamp, pin, or lever-lock insert holding methods. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards under industry standard number TNMG332-M3 and ISO code TNMG160408-M3. Suitable for P20, P30, and P40 material grade applications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is secured in the turret before seating or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamping hardware specified by the tool holder manufacturer when securing the insert via clamp, pin, or lever-lock method. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before installation to ensure proper seating and repeatability.
