The SECO 03093857 is a CNMG433-M3 indexable carbide turning insert designed for general-purpose metal cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the TP3501 manufacturer grade and features a CVD-applied Duratomic coating stack of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr for extended tool life in steel and stainless steel applications. The insert has a neutral hand orientation, an 80-degree diamond shape, and four usable cutting edges per insert. Corner radius measures 0.0472 inches, inscribed circle diameter is 0.5000 inches, and overall insert length is 0.5079 inches. The M3 chip breaker geometry is engineered for medium-roughing to finishing passes.
This insert is suited for steel (ISO material code P) and stainless steel (ISO material code M) workpiece materials, with published material grades of P20, P30, and P40. Typical applications include turning, facing, and boring operations in both production and job-shop environments. Insert holding is compatible with clamp, pin, and lever-lock style toolholders. The insert carries ISO code CNMG120412-M3 and industry standard number CNMG433-M3, making it a direct cross-reference for shops sourcing by ISO or ANSI designation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for CNMG-style toolholders accepting a 1/2-inch inscribed circle, 3/16-inch thick, 80-degree diamond insert with neutral hand orientation. Compatible with clamp, pin, and lever-lock holding systems per ANSI and ISO CNMG standards.
Indexable turning inserts are installed and replaced by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing an insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench and seating method specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not overtighten the clamping screw, as this can fracture the insert. Inspect the insert seat and chip pocket for debris before seating a new cutting edge.
