The SECO 03084180 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 1/2-inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/2-inch length of cut, and a 0.0600-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge and extends tool life in hard materials. The 4-flute, single-end configuration with a variable helix and AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating makes this tool well-suited for aggressive cuts in difficult-to-machine workpiece materials. It is used by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is rated for primary use in stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes M, S, and H). The long-length flute geometry and high helix style support both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The Weldon flat shank provides positive engagement in standard toolholders, reducing pullout risk during heavy cuts. The STR440.2 series designation identifies this as part of SECO's family of high-feed solid carbide end mills built for difficult alloy machining.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 1/2-inch Weldon flat shank. Rated for stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per ISO workpiece material codes M, S, and H. Part of the SECO STR440.2 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is secured in a vise or fixture before inserting the end mill. Seat the Weldon flat against the set screw and torque to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout does not exceed the stated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before beginning a cut.
