The SECO 03084163 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding material removal in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a 0.0300 inch corner radius and a 4-flute configuration with a variable helix, which reduces chatter and improves surface finish during both roughing and finishing passes. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting temperatures common in hard material applications. With a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, 1/2 inch length of cut, and 2.5 inch overall length, this is a stub-length tool built for rigidity. Machinists and tooling specialists install this end mill in CNC machining centers using standard straight-cylindrical toolholders.
This end mill is suited for high-speed and high-feed applications in aerospace, medical, and industrial manufacturing where tight tolerances and difficult materials are the norm. The STR440.2 series is engineered specifically for stainless steel, superalloys such as Inconel and Hastelloy, titanium, and other hard materials classified under ISO material groups M, S, and H. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, and the right-hand spiral flute direction provides reliable chip evacuation in vertical and horizontal machining setups. It is a single-end tool intended for use in precision toolholders.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders. Intended for CNC machining applications in stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and other hard materials. Part of the SECO STR440.2 series.
Installation should be performed by qualified machining personnel following the toolholder manufacturer's runout and clamping specifications. Verify TIR does not exceed 0.0005 inch after tool insertion to protect edge integrity. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Do not exceed the recommended axial and radial depth of cut parameters specified in the SECO STR440.2 series cutting data tables.
