The SECO 03084156 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding material removal in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It measures 3/8 inches in diameter with a 1-1/8 inch length of cut and a 0.0200 inch corner radius, making it well suited for both roughing and finishing passes where edge strength and surface quality are required simultaneously. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. With four flutes, a variable helix, and a high-helix angle of 40 degrees, this tool is built for aggressive yet controlled material removal in hard-to-machine workpiece materials.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and milling operations targeting stainless steel grades, nickel-based superalloys, titanium alloys, and other hard materials classified under ISO material groups M, S, and H. It is a single-end, centercutting tool in the STR440.2 series, appropriate for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling where corner strength and chip evacuation are priorities. The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive in compatible toolholders, reducing pullout risk under high feed rates.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 3/8 inch Weldon flat shank. Suited for CNC milling applications involving stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and other hard workpiece materials (ISO groups M, S, and H) as part of the SECO STR440.2 series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered down and spindle fully stopped. Verify toolholder runout before mounting — TIR maximum for this tool is 0.0005 inches. Ensure the Weldon flat is properly aligned with the toolholder set screw to prevent axial pullout during cutting. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and SECO cutting data recommendations for speed, feed, and depth of cut appropriate to the workpiece material and setup.
