The SECO 03084152 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding metal removal in stainless steel, superalloys, and hard materials. The cutter measures 3/8 inch in diameter with a 3/8-inch length of cut and a 0.0200-inch corner radius that reduces chipping at the cutting edge and extends tool life in high-stress applications. A 4-flute, single-end configuration with a variable helix and right-hand cutting direction supports both roughing and finishing operations. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures. Series STR440.2 tooling is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC milling equipment.
This end mill is suited for shops running stainless steel, titanium, nickel superalloys, and other hard or abrasion-resistant workpiece materials. The stub length type and 2-inch overall length make it well-matched for short-reach applications where rigidity is a priority. The Weldon flat shank seats securely in compatible side-lock toolholders, reducing pullout risk during aggressive passes. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry, expanding the range of operations this tool can handle in a single setup.
Designed for use with standard side-lock and Weldon flat toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch shank. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per material codes M, S, and H.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician on a CNC or manual milling machine. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the Weldon flat fully against the toolholder setscrew and torque to the toolholder specification before use. Verify runout against the TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch after installation to confirm proper seating.
