The SECO 03084149 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It carries a 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) mill diameter with a 0.0200 inch corner radius and features four flutes arranged in a right-hand spiral with a variable helix for improved chip evacuation and reduced chatter. The AlTiN coating is applied via PVD process, providing thermal resistance and extended tool life in demanding cutting conditions. Overall length is 2.5 inches with a 5/8 inch length of cut. This tool is centercutting and built for both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup.
The 03084149 is suited for CNC machining centers and milling operations targeting difficult-to-machine materials including stainless steel grades, nickel-based superalloys, titanium alloys, and hardened steels. The short flute length and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic toolholders. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Verify runout does not exceed the specified TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch after seating in the holder. Confirm cutting parameters — speed, feed, and depth of cut — are appropriate for the workpiece material before initiating a cycle.
