The SECO 03084143 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding material removal in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 0.25-inch mill diameter, a 0.0200-inch corner radius, and four flutes ground from micrograin carbide stock. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-heat cutting environments. With a variable helix geometry and a short flute configuration, this end mill handles both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. It is single-ended, centercutting, and runs right-hand with a straight-cylindrical shank. CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals select this geometry for tight-tolerance work in hard materials.
This end mill is suited for vertical machining centers and CNC milling applications where the workpiece material is stainless steel, superalloys such as Inconel or similar nickel-base alloys, titanium, or other hard materials classified under ISO material codes M, S, and H. The short length-of-cut geometry reduces deflection in deep-pocket and contour milling operations. The 40-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces in tough materials. It mounts in standard toolholders accepting a 0.25-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Compatible with standard toolholders accepting a 0.25-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Intended for use in CNC milling machines and machining centers running right-hand spindle rotation. Series STR440.2.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout-tagout state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism according to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout against the TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before beginning a cut to prevent premature edge failure.
